See You at the Pole
If you drove past the campus of Champion Christian College early this morning, you probably saw a group of students gathered around the flagpole, holding hands, and singing. These students had one goal in mind- prayer. People from all over the country united around flagpoles this morning to pray for our country, our leaders, and the citizens.
See You at the Pole was started in 1990 by a youth group from Burleson, Texas. This started an annual gathering of believers to come together, in front of their school, and pray. It is stressed as a student organized and student lead event. Why at the flagpole? The flagpole is always located in the front of the school, and this is not a time to hide in a corner. These students are standing up, in front of other students, parents, and faculty, to show they believe in the power of prayer.
See You at the Pole is a time for students, teachers, and members of our community to come around, reflect with each other, and offer up prayers of thanks and worship to our Heavenly Father.
