On October 24, 2017, Champion Christian College was granted candidacy status by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).
Candidacy status means that CCC is in with the requirements and standards in the application for accreditation, verified by a candidacy committee visit in June 2017.
“(It’s a) great day to be a part of Champion Christian College”, said President Eric Capaci. He continued by saying, “It was a team effort by our entire administration, staff, and faculty. Many thanks to everyone who contributed but all glory goes to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s been an incredible journey and today marks a huge step towards the present and future success of Champion Christian College.” Being granted candidacy status is one of the biggest milestones in Champion Christian College’s 12-year history. “This is the first domino that needed to be pushed for all the other dominoes to fall,” says Vice President of Champion, Dr. Moody.
Candidacy status benefits students in specific ways. In the future, it will make it easier to transfer credits and be admitted to more graduate schools. It will also show prospective students how a Champion education meets high standards and equips our graduates with skills needed in today’s world.
Along with candidacy status, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education authorized the institutional planning and development for the establishment of new independent college in Arkansas. Mrs. Claudia Kemp, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, was present at this meeting where nine board members and around 100 representatives from other college and universities were present. This is another milestone crossed in the history of CCC.
Junior in Elementary Education, Bre Burris, captured all the students emotions, when she tweeted, “It’s a great day to be a Champion student.” We look forward to the future and the next steps in this process.
